Back to waiting!

First things first a better picture of Spidy:

So My Logan is complete:

 photo DSCF0923_zpse8ca3bcd.jpg

 photo DSCF0924_zps8209932a.jpg

For some reason I can't seem to get my camera to work properly every time I use. Some days I get great pictures the next bam they are rubbish. May have to retry the Logan pictures with a blue or red background.

As for the model himself, a few problems with mold lines I couldn't completely remove and some pitting in the metal.

The metal claws do not look as good at the plasticard ones I made. The metal ones were impossible to get straight.

Now the wait to see what Knight models releases next, so I have the needed concentration and no distractions to get Marks marines finally finished.

 photo DSCF0911_zpse5044f9e.jpg

Yep they're green and not denim. But why?

As I said I am going for a "The Wolverine" Logan not a Origins Logan:

Mine are green but I'm happy with that!

Chicken pox!

Ok I said I was going to do Marks marines, but a household full of the pox has made it hard to donate a large chunk of time to those 4 lovely marines, So I started Logan.

Sorry Mark.

Only the flesh done, tomorrow I'll do the  flesh glazes:

Spidy Next before Marks Marines

Back again!

Well as I said yesterday, I had my dispatch e-mail and as I said in the post today was my 70mm Logan:

 photo DSCF0884_zpsfd8a75bb.jpg

The model inside:

 photo DSCF0885_zps459c4865.jpg

All there and in good shape although 3 of the claws seemed a little small, but nothing untoward so I went ahead and built him:

 photo temporary_zps368dbfe7.jpg

It was at this point that I realised the smaller claws were wrong and looked silly in comparison with his left hand:

 photo temporary_zpsb973fded.jpg

So I rang Element games and they said sounds like a miscast and advised me to contact Knight Models. Me being me and impatient I couldn't wait for Knight to respond, So I tried something new and built replacements from plasticard:

 photo DSCF0886_zps4b3469fd.jpg

Not bad for my first ever try and use plasticard to build stuff, so after a little filing and sanding Logan went from:

Punyclaws:

 photo DSCF0887_zpsd5d0df48.jpg

To proper Wolvie claws:

 photo DSCF0888_zpscdb7e2b7.jpg

So back to Thor, I chickened out of NMM and did normal metallic, also halfway through red cape:

More update tomorrow.

Element Games Rock

As I said in my post yesterday, I had got a dispatch e-mail from Element Games stating My pre-order of Thor and Spider-man had been sent.
And from past experience I generally get them the next day, guess what I did:

 photo DSCF0876_zps1b89bfd8.jpg

I really have to recommend Element games, and if you do please use my promo code: AND220 we will both get double reward points.

So for the unpacking:

 photo DSCF0880_zps3fad8a3e.jpg

Very fiddly and was a nightmare to assemble but but very nice miniature once finished.

 photo DSCF0882_zpse402cbd7.jpg

Thor on the other hand was far easier to build, I also have placed him on a larger base, like I did with the Hulk as they are large minis and look better on bigger bases:

 photo DSCF0881_zps96537ec9.jpg

Most of you guys who know me I won't wait around long before I paint these and Thor has been started. Flesh is not going the way I'd like but it is finished and the black tunic is complete, I will also be trying NMM on Thor :

 photo DSCF0883_zps44849f39.jpg

On even more news, I got another dispatch e-mail from Element Games, my 70mm Logan has been sent oh happy days, lets see if Element live up to my expectation and it arriving tomorrow.

Monday, 14 April 2014

Well lets see how long I can keep this up!

Post number 2, on a roll!

Well received a e-mail from Element games today, saying my pre-order of Thor and Spider-man from Knight models has been dispatched, meaning I'll probably following past record, I'll get Thor and Spider-man tomorrow and this blog can really get started.

So why the post today first to say yay mini coming in the post and secondly to show off some complete miniatures.

Firstly a commission piece that allowed me to buy Hulk and Captain America:

 photo DSCF0869_zps50e3373b.jpg

 photo DSCF0870_zpsde565092.jpg

 photo DSCF0871_zps675cd4ed.jpg

 photo DSCF0872_zps92b08169.jpg

Some simple and lovely Death Korps of Krieg, not painted any of these for quite sometime, had forgotten most of the techniques and recipes I used to paint my original ones.

The next commission I'll be working on after Thor gets done is Marks Leggats marines:

 photo DSCF0875_zpsfa5d3dc3.jpg

The bases have been started and so as the base colour for the Ultra marine blue, will be using Andrea Blue paint set for the armour and trying something special too.

To keep the mojo flowing I painted something very simple:

 photo DSCF0873_zpse647bcce.jpg

Lararus from Wyrd miniatures, went for a very simple oxidised brass effect, I felt the blue piping could be left unpainted but seems to have not worked as I visioned.
Done now, so live and learn!

So until I have some Knight models to show ta ta for now

Here goes nothing!

Here goes Nothing!

Well better late than never, I have planned to start this blog for a few years now but have been to lazy to start it.

Seeming I am diving in to new miniatures from Knight models and even dipping my toe into 70mm scale models it seemed a good time to start it. I'll also use this blog to show off commission work and other stuff I do.

So where to start?

Here's what I have already got from Knight Models, painted and displayed on The Ammobunker site and Facebook:

 photo DSCF0859_zps9229934c.jpg

I started with my names sake: Wolverine:

 photo DSCF0812_zpsbe6ac9ab.jpg

I enjoyed Wolvie so much, I had built, and painted him in one day flat, with a hankering for more!

So When more money became available I bought the Hulk and Captain America:

 photo DSCF0831_zps34ee7872.jpg

 photo DSCF0833_zps3661e180.jpg

These were followed very quickly by Iron-man:

 photo DSCF0841_zpsa019c919.jpg

This is where I have hit a problem and have ran out of 35mm scale Marvel characters and a unwillingness to go DC just yet (Although a Batman and few others may be bought for the painting challenge alone).

Knight Models are not the greatest at getting news about up coming releases until a week or two before they are released, but thankfully Garry Ewing's local indie store was able to help with my problem, and Garry informed me that on Monday 14th April, Knight models will be releasing a Thor and Spiderman 35mm miniatures:

 photo Thor_zps581e8c3d.png
 photo knight-models-marvel-knights-amazing-spider-man1_zps3c063e1c.png

Not knowing when the next 35mm Marvel release will be after these 2, I felt I needed to have a go at the challenge that is Knight Models 70mm scale models and have bought:

 photo knight-models-wolverine-logan-shireworks-1310-03-shireworks5_zps0e012930.jpg

Yep another Wolverine, OK Logan this time, He will be painted up as if from the Movies: The Wolverine. Meaning no denim jeans but green ones instead, far easier to paint.

These purchases have been funded by commission which will also be showing up in here too. Starting with some of Mark Leggat Ultra marines.

To any one reading this I have to recommend the Element games as they have provided a service second to none. For example, I ordered the Hulk and Captain America on a Monday before 3:30pm and I had them the very next day. For those going to use Element game please feel free to use my promo code AND220 where we will both get double reward points.

Apologies, for grammatical mistakes I am dyslexic :D
